Pentax 55-300mm zoom lens

Strengths: Color, sharpness, price

Weakness: Not good in low light

I have used this lens for a few days on my K100D. I was really impressed by the sharpness. Nice and crisp from 55mm all the way up to 300mm. very nice lens!

Strengths: zoom, built quality!

Weakness: kinda heavy, not a constant aperature

very nice lens for those extra far away objects! a must have for your lens collection! i just wish it was a constant aperature instead of f/5.8 at 300mm. overall, you cant go wrong with pentax!

Great for the money

Strengths: Nice and sharp, good color balance.

Weakness: seems to have a little trouble focusing in low light, but I just got it, so I'm not so sure.

I just got this a day ago, and took a couple hundred pictures today, and sheesh, this is pretty great for 329 bucks. Nice and sharp through the whole range, though a little soft at the very extreme telephoto. But seriously, this kicks the butt of the old tamron zoom I had, which only went to 200.
