Epson 3800 Photo Printer

Strengths: Excellent sharpness, great contrast and color. No bleeding even when examined at 5X power! 80 mL large ink cartridge (saves money and time). Software links with Photoshop CS3 and Epson V750 scanner.

Weakness: Guide could be more detailed. For example, it is a near disaster to try to make a print with the front tray close! There is some difference between Photoshop and Epson printer color management.

The Epson 3800 is a clear winner! Congratulations Epson. And, that small footprint really helps in a small room. Now, if only the inks and paper were a bit cheaper. Still, they are worth it to produce prints that rival the best darkroom chemical prints. And, they are archival too!

Epson Pro 3800 Printer

Strengths: Excellent image quality right out of the box. My workflow is now complete from camera to computer to print to hanging on the wall. This printer truly makes everything come together beautifully.

Weakness: None that I can tell at this time.

Great investment - I am finally able to enjoy my work hanging on the wall, give my prints as gifts and sell them with pride. I am a high end shooter. I have always had trouble with printing. Either from desk top or outsource, since owning this printer. my soot to print workflow has been very smooth. Excellent printer, highly recommended.

Epson Stylus Pro 3800 Inkjet Printer

Strengths: Gorgeous fidelity to original coloring; Back-out button enables easy clearing of paper jams; Does cut-sheet printing up to 17" x 37.4"

Weakness: My only regret is that it doesn't print on CD's -- otherwise, I'd throw away my current Epson Stylus R1800

I've used Epson printers for over two decades now, starting with the original dot matrix version, and they simply keep on getting better and better. One additional nice thing about the Epson 3800 is that the high-angle rear entry feed lets the printer be placed virtually right up against a wall -- so its effective footprint, including feed space, is really much smaller than most other models.
